Yep
There sure enough is trouble at Melody Mesa for Cal Shrum and His Rhythm Rangers.
I think it's the script.
Made in 1944 but not released till 1949 for good reason. It probably should not have been released at all.
Pretty ladies and good music though.

Ugh!
Almost the worst western youÂll ever see, ÂTrouble At Melody Mesa features one of those ÂWho killed my brother? plots so prevelant in westerns and basically slows it down to a near crawl with boring acting, an indecipherable plot and plodding action sequences. First, itÂs hard to tell who the real lead is, as there seems to be 2 main male protagonists here, both slow and oddly unattractive. The antagonist, who of course is the suspicious bad guy, isnÂt that bad, as if he knows heÂs got to be the one to rise above this mess.
There is a love interest too. Lorraine Mickie. Now, I have no idea of who this person is, but I have to say that this is probably one of the worst performances I have EVER seen. Oh, god, she was so BAD. She gives Diane MahreeÂs performance in ÂManos, Hands Of Fate some serious competition.
Now, with a title like ÂTrouble at Melody Mesa youÂd expect some music right? Well, there IS country music performed, but itÂs played so lifeless and stilted. Like what was up with that?
Also, if anyone can explain the ending to me, IÂd be most grateful.
